Inc. 5000 Magazine
WTC was recognized as the 3,416 fastest growing company in the 2007 INC. 5000 Magazine. The Inc. 5000 digs deeper than the well-known INC. 500 to offer the most comprehensive look ever at the entrepreneurial engine driving the U.S. economy and it recognizes the 5,000 fastest growing private companies in America and what makes them work. Inc. 5,000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2003 through 2006. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generated revenue by the first week of 2003, and therefore able to show four full calendar years’ of sales. Additionally, they had to be U.S.-based, privately held, and independent–not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies–as of December 31, 2006.
These companies are the elite–a mere sliver of the seven million or so companies in the U.S. that have employees. The 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. produced $194 billion in 2006 revenue, about 1.5 percent of the national gross domestic product, and employed more than 900,000 people, about 0.6 percent of the jobs in the U.S.
Watsontown Trucking Company’s growth rate from 2003 to 2006 was 88% climbing from $21.4 million in 2003 to $40.3 million in 2006.
